LLC cost in California
Cheap to open, expensive to keep. The $800 minimum franchise tax is due even in a year with no revenue.
LLC cost in Texas
A high opening fee of $300, then almost nothing each year for most small companies.
LLC cost in New York
The $200 filing fee is the easy part. Newspaper publication can cost more than the filing fee many times over.
LLC cost in Florida
Moderate to open, moderate to keep, and unforgiving about the annual report deadline.
LLC cost in Delaware
The default for venture backed startups. Usually unnecessary, and quietly expensive, for a small local business.
LLC cost in Wyoming
Genuinely cheap and genuinely simple. The privacy marketing around it is oversold.
LLC cost in Washington
A middling $200 to open and $60 a year to keep, with a separate business licence most owners forget.
LLC cost in Illinois
Straightforward fees, a firm deadline and a penalty that arrives quickly if you miss it.
LLC cost in Pennsylvania
One of the lowest annual fees anywhere at $7, with a new yearly filing habit to build.
LLC cost in Georgia
Low fees, a hard 1 April deadline and a cheaper option if you file online.
For reference, Montana is the cheapest state to open an LLC in at $35, and Massachusetts is the most expensive we track at $500 to file and $500 every year. Want your own numbers? Use the LLC formation cost calculator.
